The Car Part – Terms, Conditions & Warranty
1. The engine warranty covers the block, cylinder heads, and all internal components. All engines are sold as long block assemblies only. No external or bolt-on accessories—including wiring, sensors, switches, belts, hoses, or electronics—are included or guaranteed.
2. In the event of a warranty claim, a diagnostic report from an ASE-certified automotive repair facility is required. If needed, we can provide a diagnostic report form to you or your repair facility.
3. Warranty coverage applies only to manufacturing defects in core internal components. This includes engines (block, heads, pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, rockers, and oil pump), as well as transmissions, transfer cases, and axles (internal components only). External parts, accessories, and electronic components are not covered. For diesel engines, injectors, high-pressure oil pumps, and fuel system components are not covered.
All transmissions must be installed by a certified mechanic or authorized dealership. Proper programming and relearn procedures are required, as many transmissions must be electronically matched to the vehicle. Failure to follow proper installation and programming procedures will void the warranty.
4. We are not responsible for any labor warranty. We are not responsible for improper installation, misuse, or any labor costs associated with installation or removal. For this reason, we strongly recommend that all parts be installed by a certified mechanic or authorized dealership to ensure proper installation and compliance with warranty requirements.
5. All returns and canceled orders are subject to a 25% handling and processing fee, and the customer is responsible for all shipping and freight fees both ways.
6. Mis-ordered or misdiagnosed parts are subject to a 25% processing fee plus round-trip shipping costs, regardless of the reason. It is the customer’s responsibility to carefully read product descriptions and verify they are purchasing the correct part. If unsure, customers can contact us via the phone number or email listed for support.
For VIN-specific parts, the customer is responsible for confirming compatibility. The Car Part is not liable for incorrect orders. All parts sold are used, and as noted in each description, may show normal wear and tear due to age and mileage.
7. The Car Part is not responsible for any additional expenses related to the part, including towing, transportation, shipping, or rental vehicle costs. Customers are responsible for arranging and covering all associated logistics.
8. Standard delivery time for most orders is approximately 7–14 business days, though delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
9. Any residential delivery is subject to additional shipping fees, which will be billed to you after we receive your order and obtain a quote from the freight company. Typical residential delivery costs range from $250–$500, depending on your location and delivery requirements.
10. All engines, transmissions, axles, transfer cases, or any other parts must be installed within 10 business days of delivery. Failure to install within this timeframe will void the warranty. Any falsification of installation information will also result in automatic voiding of the warranty.
12. While we make every effort to clean and present parts as nicely as possible, customers understand that these are used parts. Parts that are 20+ years old may not appear as visually appealing as newer parts, and some normal wear is expected. If a customer wishes to return a part due to its appearance, the 25% restocking fee and all round-trip freight costs remain the customer’s responsibility.
13. Customers must inspect all parts upon delivery. Once the delivery paperwork is signed, the customer or the receiving mechanic has acknowledged receipt and accepted the condition of the engine, transmission, axle, or transfer case. The Car Part is no longer responsible for any damage, condition issues, or freight handling once the paperwork is signed. This acknowledgement does not affect the applicable 1-year parts warranty, which begins on the date of delivery.
14. The stated mileage of any part is provided to the best of our knowledge but is not guaranteed. Customers acknowledge that mileage information is for reference only and accept that variations may exist.
15. The warranty does not cover oil leaks or damage caused by failure to replace seals, gaskets, or filters during installation.
16. OEM parts may be compatible across multiple years, makes, and models. We guarantee that the part sold will be compatible with your vehicle based on provided information.
17. All deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are held for 7 days. After this period, the customer acknowledges and understands that the full deposit will be forfeited, as communicated to the customer via email and phone at the time of the order.
18. Returned engines, transmissions, axles, transfer cases, or any other parts must be in the same fully assembled condition as when received. We can detect if a part has been disassembled in any way, and the customer acknowledges that doing so will void the warranty, forfeit the full return amount, and be subject to additional fees, including round-trip freight costs and the 25% restocking fee. Disassembly may result in the loss of the entire return value, especially after initiating a return.
19. In the event of a return, customers must communicate via email only. All return requests must include the order number, photos of the part, and the reason for the return. Customers acknowledge that processing a return may take up to one week, as all returns require upper management approval.
Once approved, a return label (BOL) will be provided. It is the customer’s responsibility to schedule and ensure the freight pick-up date and time is followed. Upon receipt and proper inspection of the returned part, the refund will be issued to the original form of payment used at the time of purchase.
20. Core charges, if applicable, will not be refunded if the returned engine, transmission, axle, or transfer case has cracks, holes, has been disassembled, or is not returned within 30 days. Customers acknowledge that the condition and timely return of the part are required to receive any core refund.
21. All engines, transmissions, axles, and transfer cases are tested, visually inspected, and cleaned prior to shipment. Customers acknowledge that these parts are used and may show normal wear and tear. Each part is shipped in working condition, and the customer is responsible for proper installation by a certified mechanic or dealership to maintain warranty coverage.
